The NUS MBA Specialisation in Finance imparts an in-depth exploration of core areas of finance, including financial planning and analysis, foreign exchange risk management, fund positioning and budgeting, international financial management, private equity, mergers and acquisitions, options and futures and corporate governance.

MBA SPECIALISATION IN MARKETING

Organisations can no longer compete on the merits of their products and services alone to ensure their long-term sustainability. Firms need solid marketing strategies to effectively target their client base and differentiate their offerings from the competition. The NUS MBA Specialisation in Marketing provides an analytical understanding of markets, consumers and marketing models. Among the subjects addressed are consumer behaviour, applied market research, marketing channels and pricing models, and marketing strategy for SMEs and start-ups.

Real Estate Specilisation

This specialisation is created to help students apply the best of real estate and business practices in an Asian context.  It seeks to provide current and future real estate leaders and decision makers with state-of-the-art knowledge in real estate, management and leadership.  The NUS MBA specialisation in Real Estate is offered in partnership with the Department of Real Estate at NUS.

CONSULTING SPECIALISATION

An important sector of the economy in Singapore is the consulting industry. World renowned large consulting firms and important niche consulting firms have a sizable presence in Singapore. As well, a sizable number of MBA students aspire to have a career in consulting. To facilitate a career transition to consulting, the NUS MBA offers the Consulting Specialization. The modules in this Specialization are oriented to understanding the consulting industry and best practices in consulting as well as the development of the fundamental knowledge necessary to operate as a consultant in today’s business environment.

ANALYTICS & OPERATIONS SPECIALISATION

With the proliferation of digital technology, successful businesses are increasingly defined by how effective they can be at leveraging data to drive business decisions.  Managers who can draw business insights from data, translate these insights into operational and strategic decisions, and execute these decisions effectively are highly sought after by businesses around the globe. The NUS MBA specialization in Analytics & Operations is exactly designed to equip students to become such managers. The specialization embodies the synergistic relationship between analytics and operations: Analytics focuses on structured approaches to model, understand, and interpret data to obtain intelligent business decisions; Operations focuses on execution of these decisions: how actual business processes can be transformed and improved. A holistic understanding of both analytics and operations will only grow in importance as technological boundaries continue to expand, and will likely become all the more essential for both middle managers and senior executives in the future.

DIGITAL BUSINESS SPECIALISATION

The digitalisation of business is advancing at a very fast pace. Digital business models have brought about countless disruptions to established businesses. The NUS MBA Program has responses to this change in the business environment with the introduction of the Digital Business Specialization. By taking this specialization, students will become conversant with artificial intelligence, block-chain and the cryptocurrency ecosystem, machine learning and big data. Importantly, the specialization focuses on how to manage and lead businesses given these changes in the business environment. The specialization equips students to not only manage and work with new start-ups that lead digital business  but also facilitate the transformation of traditional businesses into those that can success in this new age of digital business.
