The NUS MBA Student Council is a student run body that endeavours to bring about a holistic development in every NUS MBA graduate. The Council is headed by the President, the Vice-President and fellow club leaders, who together coin the agenda for student activities during the academic year.

These activities encompass both professional and personal development through frequent Invitational Cocktails, Networking Nights, Cultural Events, Workshops, Industry Visits, Social Responsibility workshops, alumni and industry interactions among other things.

The NUS MBA prides itself in the diversity of its student cohort. This trait is reflected in the presence of a wide variety of student run clubs that cater to every interest be it professional, sports, hobby or social responsibility.

Hence the Council houses four primary professional clubs: Consulting, Finance, Marketing and the Social Impact Club.  While the first three predominantly focus on the respective streams, the Social Impact club drives the importance of corporate social responsibility and sustainable business concepts like social entrepreneurship.

Though these clubs focus on the individual streams of focus, they also conduct programs that are more holistic in nature so as to encourage intra-disciplinary participation and an overall business and management learning experience. Each of the clubs is headed by the club President & run by an executive committee.  Through these clubs, the council taps into the talent within the cohort and channelizes the strength through every role that would be needed to succeed in the real world.

Apart from the 4 professional clubs, the Council also houses 3 Clubs that focus on Sports, Knowledge Management and Student Activities respectively. These too are headed by Presidents who are aptly supported by their respective ex-co members.

In addition to the Clubs, the Council houses two departments, each headed by a Student Director. These departments are:  Program Development (a liaison between the students and the MBA Office academics office to help plan the courses/electives etc.) and Career Services (a liaison between the student cohorts and the career services office (CSO)).

Together, the 7 clubs and 2 departments make a wonderful team and the Councils activities are well focused and conducted by this vibrant and wondrous team.

As the President and the Vice-President of the Council, we primarily involve ourselves in planning the overall events of the student cohort, working very closely with each of the departments and Clubs, in managing external student relations of the MBA cohorts, acting as the primary liaison for the MBA Office and in ensuring continuous improvements in the Council and the cohorts.

Some of the main events planned by the Council for the academic year 2010-2011 include:
